Facebook Switches to Spark AR for Face Filters




Facebook has announced that it will remove the augmented reality (AR) based face filter application MSQRD from the Android and iOS stores. According to WebTekno; It was learned that Facebook, which thought that the augmented reality application called MSQRD, which has been in use since 2016, had not developed as much as desired, decided to develop a project called “Spark AR”, which is more advanced than MSQRD, in the last 4 years.

In a statement made by Facebook, it was stated that users will be able to use Spark AR instead of MSQRD, which has been overshadowed by popular face filter applications such as Instagram and Snapchat. Underlining that Spark AR will offer the best augmented reality experience, Facebook officials stated that users will be able to share the filters they create via Spark AR within Facebook as they wish.
